PEACEHAVEN AND TELSCOMBE

BOWLS CLUB
_________________________________________________________
OUR FRIENDS AND NEIGHBOURS
Underlined Clubs have links to websites.
The sport of Bowls is a popular pastime in East Sussex. Peacehaven is fortunate to be in the heart of it.
There are several clubs within half a dozen miles of us, give or take a few yards:-

Newhaven Bowls Club            is now over a century old and still going strong.

Saltdean Bowls Club              founded in the 1970s, can be found at The Oval on Saltdean recreation ground.

Rottingdean Bowls Club,
on Falmer Road in Rottingdean is not far from St Margaret’s Church, a spot which the writer had
indelibly printed on his memory over fiftyeight years ago!
Will we make 60?? (26.06.25).
Full of good memories. The Club I mean.
Many old bowling friends here so it's always a pleasure to visit, especially when
the sun is setting over the windmill.

Woodingdean Bowls Club      is “up the hill” from Rottingdean. A hospitable club with a superb viewing terrace and bar.

Crouch Bowls Club
in Seaford, located on the edge of Seaford Town football pitch at Crouch Gardens, is a friendly
and competitive club. And the gardens are lovely.
Recent extensions have made this club a                                                          spacious and even more welcoming venue.

Seaford Bowls Club,
in Chichester Road, Seaford. A sheltered green with an excellent club house and some very good
                                                 bowlers!

Lewes Bowls Club,
ancient club, lovely green, one of the best locations in the County. Car parking (pay and display)
outside the Lewes FC ground—The Dripping Pan.

Mackie Bowls Club
located in Mackie Avenue, Brighton, a stone’s throw from the A27 junction with the A23. A
competitive club who take their bowling seriously. They are also very hospitable.

Portslade Bowls Club
in Victoria Road, Portslade, Brighton. A small club with big hopes. Been around for a long time.
                                               A likeable Club.
In the past couple of years they have moved to a new and well appointed
                                               location nearby.

LAST BUT BY NO MEANS LEAST and CERTAINLY THE NEAREST

Denton Island Indoor Bowls Club.
Has unrivaled facilities for the Cold and Wet months and throughout the year. This is a
superb venue with a thriving social section. Welcomes new members with or without experience,
young and old. As do all good bowls clubs.

 AND

Peacehaven Community School.

Our own secondary school in the heart of Peacehaven and one of the best in the land.
We intend to get to know them better soon and would love to
welcome any of them to our club.
